Spectrum PC/PTFE
Low Friction | Self-Lubricating | High Thermal Resistance
Spectrum PC/PTFE is a high-performance composite material that fuses the exceptional mechanical strength of Polycarbonate (PC) with the self-lubricating properties of Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). This unique synergy creates a filament designed specifically for functional parts that face constant friction and wear.
In the Natural variant, this material maintains a professional, semi-translucent industrial look while delivering a significantly lower coefficient of friction than standard PC. It is engineered for long-term durability in mechanical systems where external lubrication is either impossible or undesirable.
Because PTFE is embedded within the PC matrix, parts printed with Spectrum PC/PTFE exhibit permanent lubrication. As the surface wears slightly during use, new PTFE particles are exposed, ensuring that the low-friction characteristics remain consistent throughout the entire lifespan of the component.
🧊 Low Friction Coefficient
Significantly reduces wear and tear on moving parts, making it ideal for bushings, bearings, and slide rails.
🔥 Heat Resistance (HDT)
Retains structural integrity at high temperatures, withstanding thermal stress far beyond standard PLA or PETG.
💪 Superior Impact Strength
The PC base provides heavy-duty mechanical resistance, ensuring parts can handle high-load environments.
📐 Dimensional Stability
Modified for industrial use to minimize the warping typically associated with pure Polycarbonate.
- Custom bearings and sliding bushings
- High-load gears and transmission components
- Guide rails and mechanical sliders
- Automotive engine bay components
- Robotic joints and dynamic structural parts
- Industrial valve seats and pump components

* Engineer's Tip: Due to the high printing temperatures required, we recommend using an all-metal hotend. To achieve the best surface finish and lubrication performance, ensure the filament is dried at 100°C for 4-6 hours before printing.
