Spectrum PA6-GK10
Glass Beads Reinforced Nylon | Isotropic Precision | 0.75kg Spool
Spectrum PA6-GK10 represents a breakthrough in composite 3D printing materials. By integrating 10% high-grade hollow glass beads into a Polyamide 6 matrix, Spectrum has engineered a filament that offers superior dimensional stability and isotropic mechanical properties. Unlike fiber-reinforced materials that can be weak in the Z-axis, the spherical geometry of the glass beads ensures uniform strength across all printing planes.
This technical modification significantly reduces the density of the material, making it an excellent candidate for weight-critical industrial applications. Furthermore, PA6-GK10 provides a smooth, matte finish that is less abrasive than carbon or glass fiber alternatives, making it ideal for moving parts and visible enclosures.
Standard fiber-reinforced filaments can cause "anisotropy," where the part is much stronger in the direction of the fiber than across it. Glass beads are spherical, allowing the polymer to flow around them evenly. This results in nearly identical shrinkage and strength in all directions, making PA6-GK10 the most predictable material for high-precision engineering assemblies.
⚖️ Isotropic Mechanics
Balanced mechanical properties in X, Y, and Z axes. Perfect for complex geometries and load-bearing joints.
📏 Low Shrinkage & Warpage
The glass spheres act as structural stabilizers, allowing for high-precision printing of large industrial parts.
🛠️ Low Abrasion Surface
Provides a fine-grained, matte surface that reduces wear on mating components and standard brass nozzles (though hardened is still recommended).
🔥 Thermal & Chemical Resilience
Maintains structural integrity at elevated temperatures and resists fuels, oils, and common solvents.
- Functional gears, bushings, and sliding bearings
- Industrial fluid handling components and valves
- Lightweight structural brackets for aerospace
- Prototyping for high-heat automotive sensors
- Protective enclosures for laboratory equipment
- Precision jigs and fixtures with tight tolerances
